The rooms in the old homestead were not up to standard as the bathroom was along way away and water pooled around the toilet and it appeared the room we had (Molly's room) had been recently vacated and not cleaned properly. The only other bathroom was shared by staff which was obvious by all their gear left in the bathroom!. The modernised cottages were better suited to families and not 4 adults sharing 2 rooms as one bedroom flowed into the next and you had to exit through the main bedroom. The second bedroom only fit a queen bed without room for luggage and no chair or hanging space. We were in a group of 13 adults travelling together and had booked in 2016 but it seemed we were crammed into unsuitable accommodation . For some it was not 4 star. Only one couple had their own room and private facilities. Meals were a bit hit and miss and the menu did not change much from night to night. It was a shame as the potential was there but the facility was not professionally managed.

Words can not describe how serene and breathtaking this location is. Top that with excellent accommodation, great homemade food and lovely people and you end up with a memorable experience. The rooms are nice and clean with very modern bathrooms in an old-style overall feel. Will definitely visit again!

Ratho Farm is a gem, the golf is unique and the views while playing are pretty special. The accommodation is simply amazing, using convict era buildings with simple and tasteful modernization. My Room was in a convict cottage with a lovely deck overlooking a rushing river. Greg was obviously passionate about the farm and family history that Ratho has and with great reason. A casual dinner in the homestead by the fire was the perfect end to a day spent exploring. The history, hosts and location make Ratho Farm Golf a great choice for a getaway.

Don't take your golf seriously and just have lots of fun. You haven't lived until you have chipped over a sheep. Bring lots of balls because they'll be lost in the paddock, behind the dunny, under a sheep. Actually, bring old balls.
